Multimodal Software for Affective Education: UI Design
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper focuses on interaction design for multimodal software in affective education. We suggest how multimodal systems can help us, and give a proposal for how to design the systems. These are demonstrations of how the MADE framework can be applied to well-known design techniques. Our goal is to come up with human-computer interaction (HCI) design guidelines for systems to support affective education. We propose the adaptation of personas from Goal-Directed Design process and propose adaptation of the Usage-Centered Design process for multimodal education.

Multimodal Software for Affective Education: UI Evaluation
This paper focuses on evaluation techniques for multimodal software. We suggest how multimodal educational systems can help us and give a proposal for how to evaluate these systems. Our goal is to come up with human-computer interaction (HCI) evaluation techniques for multimodal systems to support affective education and adapt usability evaluation taking into consideration the cognitive walkthr...
متن کاملEvaluating Software for Affective Education: A Case Study of the Affective Walkthrough
We present and discuss the use of a proposed walkthrough method to evaluate the affective design of an educational multimodal software system. We conducted a case study using the walkthrough. The software we studied was designed to support an educational objective of making the learners more engaged and reflective, and the software’s aim was to use narrative to help the learners tell a visual s...
متن کاملThe MADE Framework: Multimodal Software for Affective Education
This paper proposes a framework for multimodal educational systems, considering the affective strategies. The ability to communicate emotionally and cognitively plays an important role in human-computer interaction (HCI) and education. The challenge is how theoretical models of HCI can inform affective multimodal education.
متن کاملEvaluating Software for Affective Education: A Case Study of Affective Heuristics
This paper addresses the use of a proposed heuristic method to evaluate affect in the user interface, educational design, and content of educational multimodal software system. A case study is presented where this method is used to evaluate a Museum Explorer system. This system was designed to support an educational objective of making the users more engaged and reflective, by supporting the us...
متن کاملDecoupling of Modality Integration and Interaction Design for Multimodal Human-Robot Interfaces
The development of a multimodal Human-Robot Interface (HRI) involving mixed-initiative and context-awareness is complex and laborious. The integration of individual modalities (e.g., gesture recognition or speech output) and the design of natural human-robot interaction are two different tasks that both require their own expertise. In this paper, we consider three different roles that participa...
